Kelenne’s mission is to “disrupt false hierarchies and create spaces for those communities to assert their unique voices, perspectives and power — and, in so doing, creating a better world for all Mamas.” Kelenne is passionate about the work her and her team do each and everyday “ dedicated to an extraordinary movement to save the lives of Black mothers.”
Black Mamas ATX’s goal is to “reduce and ultimately eliminate the alarming maternal mortality and morbidity rates among Black women.” Through programs, increased awareness, training, outreach, and research, Kelenne and her team are leading the charge in Central Texas to help “Black mothers get the education and access to resources needed to have healthy pregnancies and birthing experiences.”
